A Cold Front

My Sister and her family moved to Texas earlier this year. She called me the other day laughing. She was watching the news and they said it would be in the 90's for a couple days and then a cold front would be moving in. It would then be 88 degrees. Brrr. Glad I'm not there!

Wednesday Wildlife:The Good Weather Birds Are Here

Well I've got my hummingbird feeders out and they are lapping it up. Getting a picture has proven tougher than I thought. They are not shy birds but I suppose like all birds they spook easily. I have the bird feeder out front right by the window so they see movement in the house while I am trying to get a picture.
Go figure...I was surprised that I was able to get a photo of the orioles. Since they are a shy bird.

The grosbeaks have been listening to the music box song that I have been trying to figure out. They freaked Brian out. He looked at me and asked if there was a bird in the house. Ah, no the windows are open.

Casey Anthony Trial

Watching the Casey Anthony trial opening statements. Wow. If Caylee died in a swimming pool accident why is there duct tape around her head and mouth?  If she drown in the pool why would her father, help hide Caylee, as a cop I don't think he would panic over an accident. Roy Kronk involved in hiding the body?
There sure is a lot of conspiracy in this trial for an average family.
How will they explain the chloroform both on her computer searches and near the body and smell in her trunk of her car?
So many questions and likely no answers.

Evil Clowns

 I spent half of yesterday and part of today trying to identify a music box song. No luck. Brian and I are both sure we know it, it just won't come out of the brain cells. So I gave up (for now).

So I am going through more clowns that are giving me fits in research.These are from my mom's clown collection and trying to list them and I come across these.

They remind me of Stephen King's "It" I expect to see them smile with pointy teeth while saying my name.
Hallelujah I am almost at the end except for the two giving me fits!

Trying To Catch Up

I am back to a quiet house and am now playing catch up. I listed more of the clowns from my mom's collection that she is giving up. Is that a shameless plug? Or do I need to add the URL  ( www.alyssawish.com). Any how I still need to take pictures of a whole lot more and list that as well.

Not to mention the shopping I did. So I'll have to post a picture here of my haul. I love looking and buying, even though I really don't need anymore inventory. Not to mention the temptation to keep a few things for myself. Brian's thrilled. ( How do you get sarcasm to come through the written word?).

 And today's picture.

I have old sheets and blankets covering my couch because Roxy and Cooper love playing out in the rain and mud. I have to push Sami out the door she doesn't like getting wet. I try to tell her she won't melt but I don't think she believes me. There is nothing like the smell of wet dog to let you know spring has finally arrived!

If You Yell Your Name You'll Hear An Echo

I am having one of those day where I can's remember what I was doing or thinking 2 seconds ago. I think I may have washed my hair twice this morning because I wasn't sure I did while showering. I am not sure I brushed my teeth at all. Devin's teacher called today and I can't remember what we talked about.
On days like this I wonder if I had a stroke. The bright side, I still remember my name. I think that's the bright side!

Busy Playing Games

So I have been goofing off for the last few days. I am sucked into some things so easily. T.V., games, and well, you get the idea. I bought this game for my son and he wasn't playing it so in the interest of not wasting money I started to play. It's fun and addicting!
Notice how I blamed the kid? 

Simple Chili

1 lb. ground beef 80/20
2 14.5 ounce cans diced tomatoes
1 15 ounce can kidney beans
6 ounce tomato paste
3 Tbsp. chili powder

Mix tomatoes, chili powder, and tomato paste together until well mixed. Add kidney beans.
Brown ground beef and then add to the pan.

Feel Yourself Up Season

We are pulling 20 of these off Copper everyday plus the few we find on the little dogs. They just don't have as much area to cover as Copper. This time of year always makes me itchy. So itchy I end up with sores because I am pretty sure these are on me. The only "hates" I have about where I live are these and winter.
If it's a rainy summer we won't see many over the summer (once we get through the spring) but either way deep woods off is now my perfume of choice. I think I am going to wear t-shirts that say I heart DEET.
