Cooper And His Turtle

Cooper patrols are yard when he's outside. Yesterday he was barking and barking and barking. Brian finally went to see what had his attention.

I made Brian bring it into the garage to get a photo before he released him on the other side of our road. He was in his shell. I'm sure he was trying to get away from the barking. This is the second one Cooper has found.

The Fur Flies....

I've been on this side of depression for the last 2-3 weeks and have been finding it difficult to do much of anything, but even that gets exhausting after awhile. So yesterday I made myself clean the house and when I was all done.... Cooper was at the sliding glass doors covered in mud.

He went right to the shower where I found what looked like a bite on his head. So we went, wet dog and all to the vet where they shaved his head. Found out that he just had a big raw spot on his head. Possibly stung by a wasp or who knows.... I'm thinking next time I'm going to ask them to do a design of some sort in his fur as long as we're there.

Sami always looks at me with a question in her eyes. That question is "where's my food?"

I have to pick Roxy up at the vet tomorrow. She was spayed. As we left her at the vet, I felt like I was abandoning her. Poor Cooper has been depressed without his playmate.

Trying To Catch Up

I am back to a quiet house and am now playing catch up. I listed more of the clowns from my mom's collection that she is giving up. Is that a shameless plug? Or do I need to add the URL  ( www.alyssawish.com). Any how I still need to take pictures of a whole lot more and list that as well.

Not to mention the shopping I did. So I'll have to post a picture here of my haul. I love looking and buying, even though I really don't need anymore inventory. Not to mention the temptation to keep a few things for myself. Brian's thrilled. ( How do you get sarcasm to come through the written word?).

 And today's picture.

I have old sheets and blankets covering my couch because Roxy and Cooper love playing out in the rain and mud. I have to push Sami out the door she doesn't like getting wet. I try to tell her she won't melt but I don't think she believes me. There is nothing like the smell of wet dog to let you know spring has finally arrived!

I have been fighting off a cold so it might take a few days to get back up and going. In the mean time I'll leave these photos for oohs and ahhs.

Cooper and Roxy need naps often from all the wild and crazy playing. It takes a lot of energy.
Oh and the wood ticks are now out in great quantity. What I like to call the feel yourself up season!

We have 3 dogs. We adopted Cooper 2 years ago in June. He will be 2 years old this month. Happy Birthday Cooper! We did a trial adoption of Ace. Unfortunately Ace and Cooper had trouble getting along which was too bad, Ace is a good dog. 
However, in the interest of keeping the dogs safe we choice not to go through with the adoption. We thought perhaps a puppy might do better.

So here's Roxy. She's about 2 months old. She is a coon hound/shepard mix. So far Cooper is doing okay with her but gets a little rough as he still thinks he's a small lap dog.

Sami just stays out of the fray. She's a smart dog.

A New Family Member

We seem to be suckers for dogs around here. We are owned by 2 great dogs. Sami is the very first dog I ever had. My dad always said he didn't believe in having a dog when you lived in the city. He considered it cruel. I always believed that was a lie. He was obsessed with his lawn. We were not allowed to play on the lawn so having a dog do it's business on his grass would have been unthinkable.

We have had Sami for 9 years now. She has always been my dog. Isn't she cute?

After we moved to the woods with land for dogs to run and play, we adopted Cooper from our local shelter. He is almost 2 years old now. He is the sweetest dog. A 60 pound lap dog, or so he thinks.
He is always coming up with new and fascinating games. This is one he loves.

On Thursday we brought home a new dog from the animal shelter. His name is Ace. We are still getting to know him. He's very friendly and can play for hours on end.
